Here at the Leschenault Community Nursery, we're dedicated to encouraging the use of local native species in the revegetation and rehabilitation of land, waterways, wetlands and coastal areas in the South West of Western Australia.
To do this, we supply local native plants to a wide range of clients from shires to farmers to small landholders to urban households.
We grow to order (we are not a retail nursery). On average, we grow over 150,000 plants of over 200 species every year. We grow these plants from either seeds or cuttings, most collected locally by our fantastic team of volunteers.
Something happens at the nursery every month of the year, whether it be seed collecting or drying, pricking out tiny new plants, potting seedlings on into larger pots or taking and growing cuttings - it's all go all of the time and that's the way it needs to be for us to grow the vast number of plants we're asked for.
If you want to order plants, become a volunteer, find out more about the plants from your local area or just want details on our monthly Market Days, this is the place for you. Simply use the links across the top to go to the pages you need.
When the time comes to collect your ordered plants, we are open 7.30am - 12.00pm Monday through Thursday.

The Market Days provide a platform for us to provide down-to-earth information for people new to gardening with native species, as well as providing them with the plants that will grow well in their area.
Latest News!
Building on our Quality Assurance, Risk Assessment and Customer Satisfaction Survey, a task group of the Nursery Board of Management is finalising a 2-3 year Business Plan which includes new products, services and ventures that will improve the strength and scope of our business.
Arising out of all this,we have decided that we now need a full-time manager who can not only continue a community-based approach with our volunteers and two part-time staff, but also devote time to developing and leading new initiatives.
We anticipate a bright future!
